Recently, Erised Semiconductor announced that it has completed the Pre-B round of financing of nearly 100 million yuan, led by Ningbo Youkai, followed by Nanshan Zhanxin Investment and Ningbo Caozhixing.

 

Since its establishment, Erised Semiconductor has gained a place in the display driver chip and power management chip market by virtue of its advanced manufacturing technology and continuous innovation capabilities. In 2021, it will set its sights on the motor driver chip market.

 

According to research data, the global BLDC motor market size is expected to grow from US$15.36 billion in 2018 to US$21 billion in 2023, with an average annual growth rate of 6.5%; The growth rate reached 15%, exceeding the growth rate of the global market.

After a year of layout preparation, its motor driver chip products have made the latest progress. It is understood that the main focus of Erised's motor drive chip is BLDC brushless motor drive, which is mainly aimed at the cooling fan market of PCs, servers, and 5G base stations. Chen Tingyang revealed: "The first 12V/1A single-phase BLDC brushless motor driver chip has been taped out and is expected to be put into the market by the end of this year; next, a 12V/3A single-phase BLDC brushless motor chip will be developed, as well as 12V Single-phase BLDC brushless motor pre-driver chips for 24V/48V applications: After that, the research and development of three-phase BLDC brushless motor chips is expected to be actively launched into the market this year or next year."

 

In other words, Erised's future business focus will be on the field of BLDC brushless motor drive. When the first single-phase BLDC drive chip is taped out, it will simultaneously develop 7 different BLDC drive chips (including single-phase BLDC high-current drive and pre-drive), and then put into the design of three-phase BLDC drive and pre-drive, so far the layout of the first stage has been announced to be completed. In the second stage, Erised will lay out the cooling fan of the charging pile and the focus motor track of the camera.

 

Undoubtedly, with the development of electric vehicles and 5G intensifying, Erised's business layout can be said to keep up with market hotspots and national policies.

 

According to statistics, an electric vehicle will use hundreds of motors of different specifications, and most of the motor drives for dry electric vehicles are controlled by foreign manufacturers. Although domestic manufacturers have increased their layout and occupied a certain market share in recent years, However, due to the long R&D and production cycle in this field and the need for richer technology accumulation, it will be a more practical strategy for Yutron to first enter the 5G field.

 

With the advent of the 5G era, servers and base stations are growing markets. In order to ensure the normal operation of cloud services that store data, silent or power-saving cooling fans are needed to cool down servers. For 5G base stations, in order to ensure their stable operation at a certain temperature, cooling fans are also required.
