The chip failure rate described in the above standard follows the bathtub curve. There is an initial reduced Failure rate, followed by a long-term low level failure rate, and then a loss failure.
· For each part of the bathtub curve, ERISED has certain methods to ensure low failure rate.
· Testing and aging are used to screen early failure products, which can reduce the early failure rate.
· At the time of design, the robustness during the service life is guaranteed and checked through electrical robustness tests such as electrostatic discharge, latch, soft errors, and drop or vibration impacts.
